Management



Projects


  • Respective branch chairmen sign all IDST contracts on behalf of IDST
  • Tasks involving out sourcing by IDST will be undertaken selectively and on a limited scale
  • Each contract is required to have a service provider, who should be a member of IDST
  • Correspondingly the concerned DRDO laboratory will designate a chief coordinator from the laboratory Normally, contracts with a maximum duration of 18 months will be accepted
  • The requirement for acquisition of professional services from IDST will be raised through a statement of case by the concerned laboratory of DRDO in the form of a Professional Service Qualification Requirements (PSQR)
  • A summary of offer of provision of professional services will then be prepared by the concerned branches of IDST as per Contract for Acquisition of Professional Services through IDST (CAPSI) proforma. The contract will include milestones, deliverables at the milestones, reviews and acceptance by the laboratory, to proceed further
  • The cost of the contract will be as mutually agreed
  • IDST has been recognised as Deemed Academic Institution by DRDO. This enables IDST to function under the provision of Contract for Acquisition of Research Services (CARS), renamed as CAPSI.
  • Technical features of the contract will be deemed as completed against each milestone, if the chief coordinator issues a certificate to that effect


Administration


  • The IDST has a clearly established procedure for administration of the institution, through Annual General body Meeting (AGM), Council, committees under the council and the office bearers
  • Admission procedures ensure that candidates satisfying the stipulations of the Memorandum of Association and Rules(MOAR) only get admitted
  • IDST has a strict code of conduct and professional ethics.
  • All members are issued with identification cards.
  • A membership register, data base and directory are maintained.
  • Management of the affairs of the institute, Composition of the council, rules for election, and that of the office bearers, are laid down in the Memorandum of Association and Rules


Finance


  • Uniform accounting procedures have been adopted for all the branches.
  • Tally software is being used.
  • Income of the institute is utilized for promotion of the objects of the institution.
  • Sound financial management principles have been adopted and meticulously followed.
  • During last 5 years of existence, IDST has executed projects worth Rs. 12 crores.
  • At present, IDST is engaged in project assignments having a total value of Rs. 4 crores
